The Pancake Pause: One Week, No Weight Loss
This week I didn’t lose any weight.
Same 93.7 kg as last Monday.
No gain, no drop. Just a flat line.
And yeah, I noticed.
I’ve lost 6.7 kg in the past five weeks. That’s over a stone — fast, steady progress. But now? My body’s clearly taking a breath. And I’m not panicking about it, but I am paying attention.
Oat Pancakes: Delicious, Familiar, Possibly Not Helping Right Now
Looking back at my logs, I’ve been eating oat-based pancakes most mornings. Always decent ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp of oat flour
- Chia, flax
- Banana
- Berries, milk
- Peanut butter
Balanced enough. But also… soft, blended, calorie-dense, and hard to eyeball accurately. Every tablespoon of oat flour is another 60–70 kcal, and I’m not using scales. They go down easy, too. No chewing. No stretch.
They’re convenient — and maybe too convenient.
So I’ve Switched Back
This week, I’m going back to scrambled eggs on sourdough — something I was eating early in the journey when the weight was dropping fast.
It’s simple:
- 3 eggs
- 1 slice of sourdough
- Chia mixed into the eggs
Chewed. Salted. Satisfying.
And it doesn’t leave me wondering if I just drank 500 kcal in pancake batter.
The Goal Here Isn’t Panic. It’s Pattern Recognition.
I’m not cutting carbs or demonising oats. I’m just running a short experiment:
- Fewer blended meals
- More whole textures
- Better fiber spread
- Slightly lower carbs without touching protein
The idea is to trigger satiety more effectively, get digestion moving again, and break out of the autopilot that can sneak in with “healthy habits” over time.
Reality Check
- A flat week after losing 6.7 kg isn’t failure. It’s normal.
- Mounjaro’s still working — hunger is low, energy’s decent.
- But I’m not relying on it. I’m watching trends. Adjusting inputs.
No panic. No overhaul.
Just noticing what I’m doing, and nudging it a little closer to what works.
